It was time for Metro Manila to get lucky as international fashion brand Penshoppe brought to the Philippines, for the first time, social media’s favorite male model, Lucky Blue Smith.
Lucky stormed the metro with a slew of activities during his two-day trip with an intimate press conference and sizzling fashion show last July 29, 2016 and finally, a fun, euphoric meet & greet with his fans last July 30, 2016.
Lucky was brought to Manila to promote Penshoppe’s latest pre-holiday collection, Rule the City, which highlighted the dynamic fashion sense of the “cool kids” through a range of stylish and equally trendy pieces.
Ushering in their 21st season aptly named “Revenge of the Classics”, the country’s premier ballet company, Ballet Manila, treated guests to a performance preview like no other.
Held at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City, Prima Ballerina and Ballet Manila’s Creative Director Lisa Macuja-Elizalde gave introductions to the enchanting scenes from four shows that make up Ballet Manila’s 21st season – Rebel : EDSA 30, The Swan, The Fairy and the Princess, Cinderella, and Don Quixote. Ballet Manila’s ballerinas and danseurs performed extremely difficult technical sequences flawlessly, exuding grace and finesse that can only come with the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet style of dancing – a discipline that the dance company has adopted and adhered to since its inception.
Some of the notable guests who were seen enjoying the season preview include renowned British choreographer Martin Lawrance, Ballet Manila Co-Artistic Director Osias Barroso, fashion designer Jeffrey Rogador, who designed the costumes for Rebel: EDSA 30, and fashion icon & dance enthusiast Jenni Epperson.
We were recently tasked by one of our Clients to take care of one of their brand ambassadors – Asian Superstar Sandara Park. Well-known and well-loved by the Filipinos, she was brought back to Manila to help promote their Spring/Summer 2016 collection.
And, of course, we were more than excited to take on this challenge! For quite a while, leading up to her arrival, all of our energy was focused on the details of her stay. From her arrival at the airport, to the hotel and the different venues of the various activities she’s participating in, to her wardrobe and her food—everything needed to be perfect and every transition, seamless.
Whenever we have events or occasions such as these, it is our practice to treat each of our guests like they are VIPs and we always make sure to take into consideration their specific preferences.
With Dara, it was pretty easy. The only thing she ever requested for was Jollibee!
Her style teams also didn’t have much of a difficult time to dress her during her stay. She said herself that she loved the collection because, “there are so many items that are simple, casual but have a point.” The brand of clothing she was endorsing provided her with many options that are trendy but simple enough that people can wear very easily.
Dara is very down-to-earth, simple, and accommodating. And we couldn’t be more thankful that we got to work with her.
The most challenging thing about her stay was balancing her pretty packed schedule. With the limited time she had in the Philippines, we had to make sure that everything was running smoothly, allotting some space in between activities to make way for transportation & prepping time, in order to make sure she would not run late for any of her engagements.
It was all worth it though. Working with such a wonderful person for a brand that does so much for the country makes it all worth it. It might be a challenge but we’d gladly take it whenever the opportunity arrives.
It is always an honor to partner with Clients who are aware of the country’s social situations and like to do their part in helping out our fellow countrymen who are in need.
To celebrate Earth Day, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® has partnered with My Shelter Foundation’s Liter of Light project to bring light to the Dumagat Tribe, an isolated, nomadic community in the Nueva Ecija province who has continued to live without the basic necessity of electricity.
With families living far from the village center and from each other, this provides a sustainable and environmental-friendly way to give the Dumagats light. The solar-powered lamps are simply a combination of simple circuit, LED, solar panel, and batteries.
You are also welcome to do your part in helping the Dumagat Tribe out. You can pledge Php 950 (the cost of making a solar-powered lamp) at any The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® store or you can drop by this April 23, 2016, Saturday, 3PM at the 26th St. Bistro, Bonifacio Global City and help build a solar-powered lamp yourself!
The event is open to everyone, even children from ages eight and up. If you’d like to be part of the event or pledge any amount, you can e-mail email@example.com.
Come join us, be an advocate of sustainable development, and celebrate Earth Day with The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®! Enjoy a sense of fulfillment that can only come from being a light to others.
